How & Why to Set Goals? 

Goals setting is powerful!

Goals are great motivators for building your life the way you want it: they shape our dreams and give us the ability to take the actions we need in order to achieve our desires in life. Goals are powerful because they stretch us out of our comfort zone and help us to grow as human beings.

Here are 7 Powerful ways to set goals for the new year!!

Where do you see myself one year from now?

Isn’t this a GREAT question? Once you know the answer, the path becomes clearer.

I ask myself these questions at the end of every year. Usually, I dedicate two weeks before the end of the year to really taking my time reflecting on each aspect of my life: career, finances, attitude, physical health, pleasure, family, relationship, education, etc. The goal is to get a clearer vision of my future. You don’t have to go as deep as I do- two hours of focus could be enough for you evaluate your life in a holistic way.

How to get started?

1. Ask yourself the following questions:  Where do I want to be? … What do I want to have? …
Begin to brainstorm what you would like to achieve in different areas of your life:
career, finances, attitude, physical, pleasure, family, relationship, education etc..
You set goals to grow, stretch inside, and go beyond where you`ve been. So, let your mind wander; start thinking what DO I REALLY WANT?

What are some areas in your life aren’t up to your standards? Take a look at yourself physically, emotionally, spiritually- what is not good? Where are you not satisfied?

Don`t think about the how– that will come later. For now, just trust the process.

2. Go beyond realistic!
Realistic is boring and rarely motivating.

Think outside the box, think about goals that fire you up so it won’t be another to-do list.
– Move to a whole new level – DREAM DRIVEN!
Think of goals that are uplifting, sexy, meaningful, alive, magical, and fun. If it’s boring, destructive, or won’t make you excited and happy, then don’t include it in your goals.
– Write all the goals in a positive statement.
For example: I want to lose weight -> This is not uplifting and fun but instead sounds hard, frustrating, and negative (you need to lose something).

How about making it a sexy, attractive, uplifting and exciting goal? Something like:
“ I`m going to feel so fucking fit, vibrant, and sexy that my beautiful energy is going to shine on people and inspire them. I’m gonna feel and be so beautiful and sexy!
– This is much more exciting.

Write your goals in a way that is so positive that you just can’t wait to achieve them, in a way makes you want to jump out of the bed no matter how dark and cold is outside. Visualize the magic happening!

When you write your goals down, something happens: you become a creator. It`s beyond our understanding, kind of the same as the law of gravity, this is the law of attraction.
So, make sure to be clear on what you want, and know your “why” – why do really want it?

Write down at least 10 goals that you want to accomplish in the next year.

3. When you know what your goal is, write it down a few times.
Place the paper with your goals written on it on your nightstand, in your wallet, or create a visual board. Make sure that you see your goals DAILY! If you don’t see them often you will just allow yourself to forget.

4Imagine and believe you can have it! 
This is a crucial part of getting what you want.

If you really, really want something and believe you deserve it, you will always find a way.

5.Be committed and consistent.
“As simplistic as this may sound, commitment is still the common denominator separating those who live their dreams from those who live in regret.” – Tony Robbins

“If you are persistent you will get it. But if you are consistent you will keep it!” – Unknown. 

Create a practice around your goals so it will be easier and more fun to achieve them.
If you want to get fit and sexy, write down a plan how to get there!
For example: 3 days per week – Yoga / Zumba / Pilates etc..
2 days killing intensive & fun workout (CrossFit, kickboxing, etc.…)
1 day – deep stretching
1 day – rest

Create a set of practices that you goanna repeat over and over and over again!
Make connections between your dreams and your goals do not focus on not how hard it`s gonna be, but rather on how good, vibrant, sexy, and happy you will become. Keep it exciting and uplifting!

If you have a BIG goal, break it down into small chunks which will move you toward your big one.

6. Priorities your goals – put them in order of importance and give yourself a deadline for each one.

7. Celebrate !!! Don’t forget to celebrate when you have achieved something new.

The main reason for setting goals is not for the outcome, it’s for who you become as a person.

You can change whatever you want in your life by your thoughts and actions.
If you have the ability to set goals, you have
 the ability to achieve them!
